Ambre Nuit was created by François Demachy, who served as Dior’s in-house perfumer during much of the fragrance’s early life.
Dior later revisited the scent as Ambre Nuit Esprit de Parfum, a separate, more concentrated reinterpretation by Francis Kurkdjian rather than a simple version of the original EDP.
