"Habit Rouge Eau de Cologne is the original concentration of Guerlain’s classic masculine fragrance, introduced in 1965. Its character begins with a bright citrus and aromatic opening built around lemon, orange, bergamot, tangerine, basil, lime, and rosewood. The heart develops into a floral-spiced composition with carnation, rose, jasmine, cinnamon, sandalwood, patchouli, and cedar. Its drydown combines benzoin, vanilla, amber, oakmoss, labdanum, and leather into a warm, resinous, softly baroque signature. Compared with later Habit Rouge concentrations, the original Eau de Cologne is generally regarded as softer and more aromatic. The fragrance is widely considered an important classic in the masculine amber and oriental tradition."
