"First is an opulent floral aldehyde fragrance created for women and launched in 1976. Its opening combines sparkling aldehydes with juicy fruits, including blackcurrant, peach, citrus, and raspberry. The heart unfolds into a lavish bouquet of narcissus, carnation, hyacinth, jasmine, tuberose, rose, ylang-ylang, and other florals. A rich base of civet, musk, oakmoss, sandalwood, vanilla, honey, amber, tonka bean, and vetiver gives the composition depth and warmth. The overall character is distinctly feminine, elegant, powdery, and richly textured, with a strong 1970s presence. First is best understood as a grand, classic floral built around contrast between a bright aldehydic opening and a warm, mossy, musky drydown."
