"Memoir Man is a dark, unusual leather-woody fougere with a strongly bitter and herbal opening. Absinthe, wormwood, basil, and mint create a cool, aromatic introduction with an austere edge. The heart introduces rose, incense, and lavender, adding floral, smoky, and resinous complexity. Its base becomes denser through sandalwood, vetiver, guaiac wood, amber, vanilla, musk, oakmoss, leather, and tobacco. The overall character is serious, bold, mysterious, and distinctly niche rather than conventionally easygoing. It is regarded as one of Amouage's more original and imposing masculine compositions."
