"Ébène de Balmain is a classic men's aromatic fougère with a strongly green, woody, leathery, and mossy character. Its opening combines mint, herbs, spices, citrus, and aldehydic freshness for a brisk and complex introduction. The heart develops a darker aromatic profile with pine, carnation, geranium, patchouli, jasmine, rose, and cinnamon. Oakmoss, labdanum, leather, amber, musk, and tonka bean form a rich, earthy base with a distinctly vintage sensibility. The fragrance is associated with the more substantial, assertive style of 1980s men's perfumery.
