Despite its name, available source material consistently describes the fragrance less as a bright citrus oud and more as a woody-spicy floral oud composition centered on rose, iris, patchouli, saffron, amber, sandalwood, and agarwood. The scent profile is commonly characterized as dry, sharp, resinous, and powerful, with the oud-rose pairing giving it a distinctly early-Montale signature. It opens with a spicy and slightly floral lift before developing into a darker heart where oud and patchouli become more prominent.
