"Amaranthine is a distinctive floral-spicy oriental fragrance released by Penhaligon's in 2009. Its character combines a green, lightly spiced opening with an opulent floral heart. The composition is especially recognizable for the unusual contrast between banana leaf, green tea, jasmine, and carnation. A creamy base of condensed milk, vanilla, tonka, musk, and sandalwood gives the fragrance a soft, sensual finish. The result is lush, unconventional, and more eccentric than a conventional feminine floral. Bertrand Duchaufour created the fragrance."
